Safer Space Policy Break and Error Festival
We envision a place where solidarity is paramount and everyone can have a good time. Therefore, we do not tolerate any form of discrimination, violence, or harassment at this event. Together, we aim to create a space where every person can feel accepted and respected, regardless of their gender identity, skin color, religion, ethnic background, or abilities. Please note that each person brings their own experiences and perspectives. Please be sensitive in your interactions with others. We recognize that we are all different and possess individual viewpoints. We strive to understand the perspectives of others and refrain from generalizations and stereotypes. Our approach to awareness structures is designed with consideration for intersectionality. By purchasing a ticket and entering the event venue, you agree to adhere to our safer space policy. Any violation of the safer space policy will be addressed and may result in expulsion from the event. In such cases, the ticket price will not be refunded. As a crew, we are aware that we are not immune to discrimination, and we continually reflect on our own behaviors and educate ourselves at various levels. In addition, there are internal awareness structures.

Safer Space Policy
- We aim to create a space where discrimination is minimized and judgment is absent, allowing everyone to feel welcome and respected – this responsibility is shared by all participants.
- We do not tolerate any form of discrimination and reserve the right to exclude individuals from the event if necessary.
- Look out for each other: If you feel threatened, harassed, or uncomfortable, please inform the staff at the information desk or directly at the awareness tent. Also, if you see that someone else needs help, ask the person directly instead of leaving it to “others” to take action. You do not need to explain or justify your experience or observation.
- Consensus is key. Act based on the principle of consent: Actions and conversations should only occur with mutual agreement. Pay attention to clear signals from the other person indicating their willingness to speak or interact with you. Do not pressure anyone.
- Do not assume someone’s gender identity based on their outward appearance. Just because you perceive someone as male or female does not mean that person identifies as such. Pronouns cannot be determined by appearance alone. We aim to create a space where it is acknowledged that individuals have the right to determine which pronouns are used to refer to them.
- BIPOC and other marginalized groups are not responsible for educating others. If you have questions, seek information elsewhere. Use the links provided on the website or use a search engine.
- We have a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination – if an incident is reported, we defer to the affected person’s definition. Depending on the nature of the incident or in the case of repeated occurrences, the offending person will be removed from the premises, and a (permanent) ban may be imposed. This rule applies to all individuals present, including the crew and residents. The awareness crew holds the right of admission at this festival.
- In everyday life, due to patriarchal power structures, not everyone can be equally comfortable with nudity. Therefore, we kindly ask you (specifically addressing cisgender male nudity): Be sensitive and observe if there are individuals in your vicinity who may be bothered by it. If you are asked to put on your T-shirts, please do so without discussion. We do not want to ban or allow anything, especially in the pool area. Please be mindful of each other. If you need more information on this or other topics, you can use our links or visit the Awareness Artist Studio during the festival, where you can get help with this and many other questions.
- A copy of our safer space policy will be provided to all artists, staff, attendees, and other involved individuals to create safe spaces and promote zero tolerance for incidents, and it is part of the agreement.
- Please do not take photos or videos of individuals without their prior permission. We do not want to prohibit you from taking pictures, but please exercise caution.
- There will be facilities for resting or conversations during the festival. The venue itself also provides many places and opportunities for tranquility.
- We do not tolerate GHB at our festival, so please leave it at home.
- After each event, we evaluate the effectiveness of our policy and strive to address any weaknesses. If you have suggestions, you can contact us at any time – even anonymously Via our Website (see links below).
- BE KIND TO EACH OTHER!
